Having a Purpose in Life

I read a quote this week by one of the first Extreme Adventurers. His name is Hudson Taylor and he was also a major advocate for the poor.

“I have found that there are three stages to every great work of God: First, it is impossible. Then, it is difficult. Then, it is done.”

We all encounter work that seems impossible, stressful and daunting. This is the work that matters. You need to know that. It is hard to be successful unless you understand your purpose. How do you do that? Only you can find your purpose because it lies within your inner-workings, your passion, your drive and the ability to try new things.

Everyone has a purpose to be great in their own way. The key is finding it and then mastering it. There is no right answer here. You will know when you try it, experience it and love it. Whatever “it” may be.

Mine was selling and coaching sales people to be great. Finding your purpose has nothing to do with age, race, or gender but the unwavering ability to keep looking for it. Do the work that really matters.
